Please join us July 31 to learn more about Special Health Procedures in the School Setting.
The purpose of this curriculum is for school nurses to receive integrated, coherent learning experiences that contribute toward their personal and professional learning and development. The design focuses on evidence-informed guidelines, serves to provide a reference point for practice and covers: tracheostomy care, gastrostomy care, straight catheterization and seizure management.
This is a Train the Trainer, TTT, course. You will be provided instruction, coaching and feedback to equip you with the knowledge, tools and resources needed to teach and mentor others.
Simulations are included in the curriculum as a teaching strategy that provides opportunity for interactive, practice-based instruction. You will learn to think critically, solve problems and provide care in a safe non-threatening environment where mistakes can be made with no risk to children. Participant's active engagement, reflection and discussion are encouraged.
