Introduction
Carla Ammons, PhD, is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and serves as Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Ammons works with children and young adults experiencing cognitive problems secondary to their history of brain tumor, cancer treatment, stroke or other neurological conditions. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before completing her internship and fellowship training in Adult and Pediatric Neuropsychology at Emory University School of Medicine/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dr. Ammons’ research interests include functional neuroimaging, pre-surgical cognitive mapping, mechanisms of disease and/or treatment related cognitive decline and resilience, cognitive rehabilitation, and neurocognitive outcomes in pediatric cancer and blood disorders.
